New Hairstyle

Hey guess what? I cut my hair short! Like, short short. Not super short tho, but short enough to the extend of not being able to tie my hair up. In my twenty-something years of living, I've only had short hair for like 2-3 times (secara paksa-rela). And this time, it's my first time having a bob hairstyle - inverted bob, to be exact.

The hairstyle is something like Victoria Beckham's (longer at the sides, slightly tapered at the crown), except my hair texture is a li'l wavy so it turns out like Katie Holmes'. The hairdresser said I looked like one of those Korean actresses btw. Hoh!

One of the reasons why I'm not too fond of short hair is bcoz my hair is not stick-straight so when it's short, it tends to get a li'l frizzy and looks like "ekor itik" bcoz it's so light-weighted. I never bothered to blow-dry my hair and use mousse or whatever it is to style it bcoz a) I'm just plain lazy, and b) I wear tudung so there's no need to do so.

So bcoz of that, the hairdresser recommends Kerastase Bain Oleo-Relax shampoo to tame the frizziness. It also claims to make the hair extra smooth, shiny and soft; but honestly I don't think I really need all that bcoz I don't have dry, coarse hair. I was thinking that maybe I should just take the Oleo-Relax serum instead and the Bain Volumactive shampoo (for fine fly-aways and weakened hair), buy hey, she's the expert. I just hope this shampoo won't make my scalp oilier than before.

The Chain Rule

This silver chainy thingy that I got from NafNaf is one of my most adored accessories at the moment bcoz it's somewhat unique, anddd.. can you see a bag-like metal at the end of the chain? Cute!

It can be worn in two different ways:

As a belt,

or a necklace!

But I'm not much of a necklace wearer anyway, bcoz I find it a bit distracting to have something dangling from my neck, so I prefer it more as a belt (well, it is a belt after all).

A Tribute to Abah

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Yesterday was my dad's birthday. We threw a little surprise party for him - he just got back from middle east on the 25th, at the stroke of midnight. Talk about perfect timing. So when he entered the house which was pitch-black at that time, all he could see was something with burning candles on the dining table. He didn't have the slightest idea what it was until all 4 of us came out from our hiding spots (mama, my sis and I nyorok tepi dinding; my bro menyarap tepi bawah meja) and shrieked "SURPRISE!!!" followed by hugs and kisses and a birthday song. He grinned, and I could see his surprised look. I guess he was still a bit jet-lagged and exhausted that he had forgotten his own birthday (which is so typical of him)!

Btw, Happy Birthday and Happy Father's Day, abah!

Little Luxuries

I realized that I'm mostly attracted to scents with floral notes of Jasmine and Lily of the Valley, and also fruity notes of Watermelon and Blackcurrant. Those scents include Gucci Eau de Parfum II, Dior Addict 2, Gucci Envy Me, Ralph Cool, Chanel Chance, L'occitane Cherry Blossom, Anna Sui Secret Wish - just to name a few (I could go on forever with the list!).

Gucci, Chanel, Prada, Dior.. If only I have the bags as well!

And it's not just about the scents. The packaging is another thing to adore, especially if it's a designer fragrance. It lets you luxuriate in designer brands and labels, eventhough you may not afford the bags and glad rags just yet.

Mini Cheesecakes

Chocolate and cheese are my top 2 favorite food in the world - chocolate ice-creams, creamy cheesy pasta, cheesy pizza, chocolate shakes, lasagne, chocolate biscuits/cookies - well basically, I love anything with chocolate and cheese.

So what happens when both are combined together? Heavennn!
Just like these mini cheesecakes from World of Baby Cakes.

I had a really hard time deciding which ones to order (it ain't easy I'm telling ya; all of her cakes and cookies look so scrumptious), so after about a month I finally settled for a dozen of Mini Snickers and Mini Chocolate Lover. Memang sedap, especially the Mini Snickers. I bet kalau Twix choc buat jadi cheesecake pon mesti sedap!

Surprize

I think the nicest gift of all is one that is unexpected (not only on special occasion days), especially if it's from your sweetheart. It makes you feel loved and appreciated and excited all at the same time. It doesn't necessarily need to be extravagant or luxurious (although, I don't mind getting one!), sometimes just a simple card or hand-picked flowers would do. Or like in my case, a book.

And not just any book...

But a book with a note inside!

"Psst..there's a surprise gift on page 80".

He wrote that at the bottom of the card. Seriously, at first I thought it was a special meaningful cute bookmark or something coz he's not the kind of guy who spoils me with money. But now after reading the book, I know the very reason why he gave me that....

When you feel good, you attract more good things in your life.

Most Embarrassing Shopping Experience(s)

I can be such a klutz sometimes, despite the lemah-lembut-gemalai-gelamai-whatever impression that I always get from other people. Especially when it comes to shopping. Like, when I picked up something from the display rails or racks at a shop, 70% of the time I would accidentally dropped a few items from the rail/rack. Macam kalau nak amik 1 ketul item kat rack tinggi2 tu, 3 ketul yg lain jatuh atas lantai. Or, nak tarik satu helai baju off the hanger from the railing, sehelai baju lain slipped off onto the floor. Or.. well, you get the picture.

MZ finds this very amusing tho, and I'll try my best to avoid him from seeing me so when I dropped something, without meeting his gaze I would quickly picked it up and put it back on the rack and act cooly as if nothing happened, and then later he'll go like, "I saw that" and laughed away. Bah!

That's dropping stuff.

When I wanna sniff the scents of lotions or creams or body wash or anything liquidy, I would end up with a bit of the residue on my nose bcoz of accidentally pressing the tube too hard. It's pretty embarrassing, especially if I'm alone without a company. But that didn't happen a lot now.

Now here's another one.

Yesterday I was browsing at MNG, KLCC when I saw a nice white bag on one of the railings near the entrance mirror. It was a cross between Chloe Paddington and Marc Jacob Venetia bag so I wanted to take a closer look at it. As I reached for the handles, a sexy lady who had been standing there scrtunizing the tops, smiled at me and said,

"Itu henbeg saya.." (in an Indonesian slang).

My face was burning with embarrassment! I apologized, and quickly dragged MZ out of the store. That's by far, is the most embarrassssing shopping experience everrr!

Now don't tell me you don't have one of your own. C'mon ladies!

Cocktails For Three

I've just finished reading this book that I bought the other day.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
ooh yes, that's a new ring too..

I picked this one up simply bcoz it's the same author as the Shopaholic series' (with a different name tho; her real name), so I was hoping it would be a fun read just like her Kinsella books.

It was.. okay. A book about friendship and stuff. Nothing wrong with that, just that.. there are three main characters in it and halfway through it I kind of like lost track who is who, so I had to refer to the front pages and reread some of it again. And it wasn't as funny as I expected (the review on the book says it's funny). But even so, I managed to finish it up in about 2 days. Not bad for a not-so-fun book eyh?

Anyway, this book reminds me of the adorable taste of Tony Roma's Pina Colada. Yum!
I wonder if Pan Pac serves that drink...

Oooh..it's 5 o'clock. I'd better get dressed.

Beauty is pain?

Well yeah... a little.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

So I went for the laser hair removal treatment for my upper lip and underarms at DermaGenesis a couple of days ago (yeap, on the very day I wrote my previous entry). It was actually a bit of an impromptu decision - I mean, I was still considering this and that, so I called up the center to get some info, and then I was being told to come by so that they can brief me more and do a few check-up procedures (which includes checking my armpit and upper lip conditions and whatnot) and then tup-tup, there I was lying on the bed, with burnt armpits!

Or at least I thought it'd burn.

Actually, it wasn't as painful as I imagined. There was a bit of tingling sensation - almost burn-like if not prickly, but the pain is bearable and only lasted for like 5 seconds. Tapi upper lip is more painful than underarms, which must be bcoz the skin layer is thinner. According to my sis, legs paling sakit bcoz the area is bigger so there's a lot to cover. Oww!

You may be wondering how was the process. Well first, a cooling gel known as ice gel is applied over the targeted area and then 1,2,3 shoooot! (the laser device thingy looks like a pistol btw). After that the ice gel is applied again, let it cool down for a few minutes, remove ice gel, apply a new layer, and then remove balik, and that's it. End of one session. The process took only about half an hour for both underarms and upper lip. I have 8 sessions altogether, and my next one is at the end of this month. I'm already looking forward to it (to having hair-free armpits and misai-less, that is. Not the treatment, to be perfectly honest. It's kinda embarassing bcoz I was attended by a male doc).

I hope I'll be hair-free by the time I'm married (whenever that is)! Hehe

The Hairy Issue

I am considering a laser hair treatment.. no wait, that didn't sound quite right. A laser hair removal treatment for my upper lip, not bcoz it's that visible but bcoz.. umm...
Okay, so it's kind of visible - especially if you try to kiss me (ain't that true, tatak? hehe).

I used to remove the hair using that blade thingy. You know, the one that is used utk tebas eyebrow? Yeah, that thing. It's not called as shaving bcoz I did not use a shaver, but my dad kept on saying I shaved.

I feel so like a man.

Anyway, my sis is also doing the laser treatment thingy for her legs and under arms (it's been awhile now and her skin is so much hair free-ier than before). The thing is, I'm not sure between DermaGenesis and Bella. The former one is where my sis is currently doing her treatments, so she's told me a few things about the services and whatnot. It's not that it's no good, but I'm just wondering what Bella has to offer. Has anyone been there?

White - flavor of the season

I decided that white is my color for this Spring/Summer (not that we have four seasons here, but you know, it's one of those fashion thingies), so I've been piling up lots of white stuff from my recent shopping trips - scarf, shoes, and everything in between.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The only white stuff I didn't get is a pair of pants. I actually did find one that I like at Forever 21, which I'm not sure what it's called but I call it "seluar santai" - u know, yg cam kembang sikit with drawstring waist (ok, maybe it's a bit too kembang) - I was so close to buying it but then after showing it to MZ, dia kata kembang melampau mcm seluar clown, terus haku tak jadi nak beli. But the foreigner ladies who were at the fitting room area commented that I looked nice in it. Should I listen to female or male opinion ha?

Don't get it wrong now, my boyfriend does have a good eye. It's just that, sometimes his outlook towards women's fashion can be somewhat.. pelik. Like those trendy wide belts? I think they're fab if being worn with the right tops but he said that thing looks like tempat nak selit keris. And ooh, he said something about bangles the other day too. Or is it rings with big diamonds? Something like pemerintahan kuku besi ke ape tah la. Pelik aku..
