I guess all of you know the news about David B leaving Real Madrid to join the Los Angeles Galaxy team, right? Sbb haku yg tak amik peduli pasal football pon tahu (amik tahu pasal dia sbb dia stylo and hubby of Victoria B jer).
As it happens, Herbalife is the official nutrition sponsor of LA Galaxy. And Herbalife will also be sponsoring the team's jerseys. I hope when David B dah start consume Herbalife, Victoria B pon akan turut consume supaya dia nampak "sihat" sket kan. Hee... ;p

These two topics are among my favorites in this book. Makes me understand about some things.
Here's some excerpts:
Your Parents Did the Best They Could
I never liked how my father raised me. He was an ex-Marine drill sergeant and a former professional boxer. He treated me like a drafted recruit in World War II. I grew up resenting the beatings, the discipline and the constant terror.
A friend of mine in college shocked me when he said, "Your father could have tossed you in a garbage when you were a baby. He didn't. Her raised you the best way he knew how."
I've since learned that all parents are winging it. None of them went to parenting school. Few of them read parenting books. Most of them raise their kids either the way they were raised or the opposite of the way they were raised. None of them raised their kids with ill intent. They were doing the best they could.
Your parents did the best they knew how to do, based on their beliefs, upbringing, and best guess about how to handle you.
Forgive them. Understand them. Love them. All they want from you at this point is to know that you understand they did the best they could. Tell them so. Don't withhold the very thing they long to hear.

How can you tell if your child will grow up to be the next Dalai Lama?
You can't.
My sister has twins. They were raised in the same environment, by the same parents, had the same teachers in schools, and dated sisters.
In spite of that, they are completely different in personalities and goals.
Water your children with love and allow them to grow as they choose.
And be sure to give them each a copy of this manual. (I will, when I have kids of my own)

I've been looking for the perfect set of makeup brush all this while, but none came close to my liking. My definition of a perfect set of makeup brush is one that has 5 soft durable brushes - 1 powder brush, 3 eyeshadow brushes, and another 1 for eyeliner (I'm planning to try Stila Smudge Pots one of these days), have bits of the color pink, with slightly short handles so that I have better control when applying my makeup (but not too short like MAC's travel set brushes tho), comes with a cute case and most importantly one that does not exceed my budget of RM300.
I began scouring the Sephora website the other day looking for The One, and came across this from Too Faced. It's pink alright, but I haven't heard of the brand name before and I was intrigued by the "teddy bear hair" so I googled it up, and found the website (it's a really cute website anyway. Here, take a look!)

...I was hooked on! Of course the reviews at MUA helped a lot too.
Anyway I got myself one, thanx to eBay (Sephora doesn't ship internationally btw) and Leen for her credit card!! Anddddd OH. MY. GOD. I love 'em! It's not just about the cuteness and pinky-ness (I didn't know the metal ferrules are pink as well coz they look like silver in the websites) but these brushes are super soft and incredibly silky that I couldn't help but play around with 'em. They pick up the right amount of makeup and blend nicely too, so that's just awesome. This is by far my 'bestest' makeup investment!

The white-crowned VB jeans which I bought from eBay last time sudah di cilok oleh my "twin" sister...
Okay truth is, I couldn't fit in it anymore. And I'm so jealous it fits her nicely coz I couldn't find one in my size, so I gave mine to her, and now she wants me to sell hers. It's exactly the same pair of jeans - bootcut, size 27, with the same patterns and everything - except the crowns are in light blue instead of white. It's new with tag, but the length has been altered to 36" (it's never worn btw). Click on the pics for larger views.

I was standing in front of CIMB bank at KLCC with Herbalife stuff in one hand and my cellphone in the other, waiting for Naya's friend - when suddenly a sad-looking guy in faded clothes appeared in front of me. He had a backpack on one of his shoulders and looked no younger than 20.
He's probably lost, was what I had in mind.
"Kak, saya lapar. Dari pagi tadi saya tak makan apa lagi. Duit takde.. Saya kerja kat kedai mamak depan KLCC ni tapi dorang tak kasi makanan...."
I don't know any kedai mamak and I wasn't sure if he was telling the truth, but he looked desperate and I felt pity for him so I reached out for my wallet inside my bag...
"10 ringgit cukup tak?"
He nodded and when I handed him the 10 ringgit note, he broke into tears.
And then the unexpected thing happened.
He shook my hand and he kissed it. I was astounded.

Few know this (unless they've read this manual, too).
Most people think they need to fight and struggle. Not so. You can let life unfold. The secret is to focus on what you want, do what is before you to make it happen, and trust the process.
Yes, life can be hard.
But it can also be easy.
Most of the difference is in how you look at what is happening.
If you regard running a marathon as hard, you won't find it very easy. But if you enjoy running and consider a marathon a personal challenge you welcome, then you will regard running it as easy. Yes, you may sweat and struggle and pant along the way, but you'll still enjoy it.
As with everything else, the choice is yours.

It is every woman's dream to have long and thick eyelashes, which is why mascaras are invented. My natural lashes (without mascara) are in the average categories though - average length, average volume, average curl.
I've given a thought about eyelash extension once when I saw an ad in a newspaper, but I doubt if our religion permits that (I mean, telap air and everything. Anyone?). But then even if it's allowable, I don't think I would give it a shot. The cost is one thing, maintaining it is another. You have to like, refill the extensions for like every month or else your lashes would fall out even more! A BIG no for me.
I've found another alternative for longer, thicker lashes that's a lot cheaper and easier - just like a mascara. Okay, so maybe the lashes won't be as dramatic as eyelash extensions can do, but knowing that it actually helps to protect and strenghten the lashes makes it waaaaayy better.

After contemplating between Talika Lipocils and Mavala Double-Lash, I decided to give the latter one a try. It wasn't that hard to decide - both are highly rated at MUA but Mavala's is much cheaper; plus I haven't found any shops that sell Talika, except from its website.
According to its description, I should see the difference in 3-4 weeks' time. Will let you know if there's any progress by then.

I've been developing a new interest in accessorizing; the one area which I've never even bothered before (except for brooches). This has been going on ever since reading the December 2006 issue of Harper's Bazaar mag. So far, I do most of my treasure-hunting for rings and bangles at Axxezz, Topshop, Miss Selfridge and Diva, where I find lots of fab pieces at a steal.
I've recently added a "real" piece to my ring collection from Bejeweled. Its entire collection of jewelery are of precious gemstones and pearls. There's a lot to choose from and they're on sale till end of this week! I had a hard time deciding which one to get (typical of me), but in the end I settled for this unique starfish-shaped white gold ring encrusted with pink stones. If I'm not mistaken, the SA said the stones are Ruby (or was it pink sapphire?).

Sorry, been a li'l busy lately. I even haven't got the time to have a "proper date" with MZ, do my assignment, finish reading the new books (I bought another 3 books btw - well, 4 campur yg ku pesan dari Mrs Imran masa MPH clearance sale. Thx bebeh), reply some of my emails, pos brg2 HL, drink 2 liters of Tea Mix daily - let alone updating my blog! I'm not complaining you know, I'm just... well, making excuses ;p
Anyway, I met The Gurls (Delta Elle) for a bowling game last Saturday at The Curve. We had a match - pompuan versus laki. Walaupun Pak MZ dan Pak Imran terrer sehingga dpt score seekor ayam belanda utk team mereka (3 times strike - Turkey strike kan dia panggil?), namun team kami jua yg menang! *clap clap* Am still waiting for the pics tho, so in the mean time you can view 'em at Ary's page...
Other than that, nothing much happened during the weekend. Just the usuals - weebit of shopping (both online and offline, but more of the former one), surfing websites, dining...
Speaking of dining, Hanis and I indulged ourselves with scrumptious pancakes yesterday.
