Color-choosing for Wallets

Wallet is a practical accessory. It holds your personal items like ID, driving license, cash, credit cards, membership cards, etc etc.

My question is, do you think that practical accessory of yours should be a pop of color so that it stands out like a fashion statement besides being practical (think pink, red, yellow, purple) OR, a serious color to indicate its practicality (like black, brown, grey)? It doesn't matter whether it's the wallet that you're currently using or lusting for. I just want to know your color selection for wallet bcoz wallet is not like a pair of shoes. You don't change it everyday. You can live with only one wallet (although, having more than one won't hurt).

So what color would it be? Design is a whole different story in this case.

I have my own opinion on this, but I would love to hear what you ladies think.
There's no right or wrong answer to this, of course.

Baju Raya Hunting

I wasn't planning to get any baju Raya this year, bcoz I figured out I would only wear it once since I'm pregnant (I'd be in my 7th month of pregnancy by then). I was thinking of wearing my mom's or Wani's baju kurung - sape2 punya la yang bole muat.

But that initial plan changed when I walked passed Kriteria boutique at Mid Valley yesterday. I saw a mannequin dressed in Batik Crepe Kurung with Pareo sarong. It looks nice, and I thought... Hmm, kalau kain Pareo mesti kat perut dia adjustable. So I dragged hubby inside just to have a look.

I love Batik Crepe, and there were a few selection of kurung styles to choose from. I was looking for a simple Batik design, purple-maroonish in color to match my hubby's Baju Melayu and I found exactly what I was looking for.

I was still a bit worried about the kurung top, whether it would fit my pregnant figure, so I asked the Sales Assistant.

Me: Kalau pregnant bole pakai lama sket tak ek? Takut baju dia tak muat kalau perut dah besar.
SA: Bole. Baju ni sampai 6 bulan pregnant pon bole.
Me: Ouh. Saya skarang dah 6 month.
SA: Oo yeker. Bole2, baju ni free size. Lagipon akak kurus, sampai 9 month pon bole.

Heee... I love that last sentence of hers! Terus aku beli ;p (I bought a buckle as well, for the pareo btw). But the shoulders are a little bit droopy for me, but never mind. I can have it altered.

Mmmhh... Macam nak lagi satu jer.

Baby Sling - The Ultimate Accessory for Yummy Mummies

I do not know when is the perfect time to start baby shopping, but I have started scouring for baby's stuff some time ago, mainly online. It's so exciting! I can spend all day long just browsing and picking out items I'd love to have. But I think I'll take baby steps first - sikit2 lama2 jadi bukit, kan? I have about 3+ months to go, so I still have plenty of time in hand.

So far I have only purchased stuff for me to wear and use; not the baby (except for those Gap rompers but that's it) bcoz *sigh* I don't want to rush into things and buy everything cute and girly or whatever it is you buy for baby boys when the baby's sex is not really confirmed. I heard so many stories - masa scan nampak girl, keluar boy. Masa scan nampak macam hotdog, turned out to be the baby's umbilical cord. So, better be safe than sorry kan?

My only purchases so far is the OiOi Diaper Bag (it's bigger and roomier than I thought!), and this Nursing Cover by Bebe au Lait. It took me a week just to decide which pattern to get. Typical of me.

Anyways, I am planning to get a baby sling for my next purchase, bcoz the other day when my mom's Bibik babysat Hariz, he was crying out loud so Bibik carried him in the "gendong" style (she's an Indonesian) using her blanket, and he immediately stopped crying and fell asleep not long after that! He must've liked it. Most importantly, Bibik can "gendong" him for hours while doing the house chores without a hassle. It's definitely one of the best baby inventions and a necessary thing to have when you have a baby bcoz c'mon, we're not octopus. We only have 2 hands.

Now there's a stylish way to "gendong" your baby. The baby sling.
Here are a few reasons why baby sling is a parent must-have:

1) they are convenient, fast and hassle-free,
2) can carry newborn up to toddler,
3) it's comfy for both parent and baby (there's leg padding),
4) can be worn up to 5 different carrying ways,
5) increase parent and baby bonding,
6) besides carrying a baby, it can also be used as a stroller cover or baby's blanket,
7) it's compact and light so it fits easily in your diaper bag,

and of course:

8) it's fab!

I am definitely choosing baby sling over baby carrier. I'm not sure what my hubby wants - I'll leave that for him to decide, but I am SO getting the baby sling!

I came across a few brands of baby slings online, and I've read great reviews about them. So after doing a little bit of comparison here and there, I think I'll go for Hotslings. It has up to 9 sizes so you'll get a more precise fit, and there are so many fabrics and patterns to choose from! Pink and brown has always been my favorite color combination so I have narrowed down the choices - and I'm torn between these two: Ana Stretch Sateen or the Reversible Eye Candy.

I dig anything that is reversible, but I want a stretchy sling. Hmm...

Cast Your (Big) Belly

How does the idea of casting a pregnant belly sounds to you?
I think it's fun (and very sexy)!

I was excited when I came across the Pregnancy Belly Cast Kit. I've never thought of such thing before (except for hands and legs). It's definitely a unique piece of art. I want to have one too so that in the years to come, I'll remember how big I was! It'd be the coolest pregnancy keepsake ever. Just look at these!

Browse here for more works of art. There are hundreds of them!

Now I need to wait for another 3 months before I can make one! ;D

Herbalife during Ramadhan

My cousin, Azra, who had just got back from UK, came to Hariz's birthday party annnndd I was surprised to see her shrinking body! (She's the one wearing glasses btw). Yup, she consumed Herbalife when she was in UK and managed to lose a whopping 12kg! I didn't ask how much she used to weigh, but she was a lot chubbier then - and now she's almost the same size as I am! Less than 55kg ada kot dia ni... I'm so impressed!

And let's talk about her eldest sister, who consumed Herbalife as well masa dia tengah breastfeed her son. She managed to lose 2kg in the first week by taking 2 shakes and 1 meal a day, and that did not interrupt her milk supply! Here's what she said...

Zizi: timbang turun 2 kg.. tp measure blum lg
Zizi: asik luperrss jerrrrsss
Zizi: kita makan dgn oat
Zizi: mmg kenyang la sampai next meal
Zizi: skrg nie pun bila makan cepat rasa kenyang
Zizi: so far so good laa
Zizi: kita pun selesa
Zizi: paling best skali tak kacau milk supply
Zizi: since amik hl, kita perasan sgt bila time membuang, senang jer
Zizi: b4 amik hl, mmg hari2
Zizi: tp kena lama skit laa
Zizi: tp pas amik hl, tak yah tunggu lama2..

Just so you know, this pregnant mommy is also consuming Herbalife shake everyday for breakfast! ;)

Anyways, since Ramadhan is getting nearer, I have received a few emails asking how to consume Herbalife during the fasting month.

So here's how (taken from Herbalife Malaysia website):

I would always recommend my customers to take Herbalife shake for sahur instead of colorful meal tho, bcoz that's what I used to do back then when I was in the weight loss program. I can't remember how many kilos I managed to shed, but I did lose a few, if not inches. I had never lost any weight during the fasting month before, FYI!

Happy fasting, everyone!

Hariz's 1st Birthday Bash

My little nephew is already 1 year old. How time flies!
He had his 1st birthday bash yesterday, at our parents' house.

We started to get really busy at around noon - decorating the house (Leen was the party planner and she's really good at it!) and making desserts for the party. Mom made Bread & Butter pudding and the white sauce, while I made Apple Crumble.

Hariz helped us out too - dia tolong kepaukan rumah! Or at least, the kitchen. Habis semua barang dia nak keluarkan dari cabinet dapur! Senduk, periuk, penapis, tupperware... I didn't manage to snap all the pictures bcoz I was busy with my apples, but it was so darn cute!

Anyway, here are the pictures from the party.

Back inside the house, I saw Hariz holding a cluster of helium balloons, but he seemed to have trouble walking along with 'em bcoz the weight kind of jiggles at his feet as he walks. So I decided to tie it at his waist! I think he likes it. And somehow, I turned him into a Human Hot Air Balloon ;p It was so funny and comel sangat! Reminds me of one of Mr. Bean's series "Mind the Baby, Mr. Bean" yang dia ikat helium balloons banyak2 kat the baby's pram sampai terbang. I wish I could tie up more helium balloons on him! He must've like it even more, kan Hariz kan?!

And then it was time to open the presents! Hariz received so many toys, I think enough for a year's toy supply! ;p We gave him the Learning Toolbench from Fisher-Price btw (your Pak Long chose that one, Hariz. He said he wants you to "main sambil belajar").

And here's a short video of Hariz mimicking his Pak Long's laughter. Kelakaaaa....! Dah la dua2 sedondon baju ;p (Excuse the messy background please!)

Happy Birthday, Darling!

Ice-Cream Fondue

I don't know why it's taken us this long to try Baskin Robbins' Ice-Cream Fondue!

Oh wait, I do know why.
It was bcoz, we thought the regular size is a lot for 2 persons. It sure looks a lot.

But turns out... macam tak cukup! I forgot there's a third little person inside of me ;p

Tiny balls of ice-cream, cheesecakes, brownies, slices of strawberry, kiwi, banana and grapes dipped in Hazelnut sauce (it was a choice between that one and dark chocolate sauce).
Mmm mmmhhh... I can't quite describe the sensational taste, but it was heaaaavennnnnnn!

We can't choose the flavors for the ice-creams tho, so we had to "redha" with all the flavors - especially the ever-so-masam sorbet and peppermint. MZ's reaction: "Eee...rasa berus gigi!".

Berus gigi, eh?? ;p

Pregnant and High-heels

Back then, when I had lost a tremendous amount of weight, I used to take my favorite tops and jeans to ZA Altera at Isetan The Gardens to have them altered to fit my shrinking body. Boleh dikatakan every week ada baju/jeans nak alter. My sister, Wani, said that was my new hobby. My hubby joked about taking my bras to have them altered as well (I used to complain about not being able to fit my cute bras anymore ;p) bcoz- well, I shrinked all over!

And so bcoz of that, the shop assistants at ZA Altera dah kenal sangat since I'm their regular customer, especially this one friendly makcik (imagine going there ever since MZ and I were boyfriend-girlfriend to fiance-fiancee sampai lepas kawin! That's like a year long).

But I haven't been there ever since I knew I was pregnant... until yesterday. So when the makcik first saw me, she called the other SA and said, "Tengok ni sape datang... Si Iza! Lama nya tak nampak, sampai dah pregnant dah. Kitorang ingat dah pegi luar negara ke apa..." (yay, people know I'm pregnant! ;p).

So we chatted for awhile; she asked about my pregnancy, how many months, bla bla... when suddenly she looked down at my shoes and almost shrieked when she saw what I wore. Oh-oh. I don't know why I felt kinda guilty (I always feel that way kalau mak2 yg nampak) and prayed silently, please don't ask how many inches... bcoz I really don't want to make a big deal out of it.

But of course she asked. It's always like that, isn't it?

"Ya Allah, Iza pakai kasut tinggi lagi ker? Ishh... tengok sket, tinggi mana?".

Alamakk.

Reluctantly, I lifted my pants just a little bit so that she could only see like 2 inches of the heel (it was actually 4 inches but it's a sturdy one, I promise. It's my shopping shoes and it's so comfy. To be honest with you, I trip more in flats than I do in heels. I don't know how else to explain to my mom and hubby and everyone else. Wani seems to be the only one who understands tho ;p).

J.Lo

I know most people are against the idea of wearing high-heels during pregnancy, but well, all I can say is, I won't risk myself wearing something that I'm not comfy in (I don't even wear jeans anymore no matter how fab it is bcoz I find them very uncomfy - and jeans used to be my most favorite clothing item!). I'm not that silly. I have stopped wearing my 5-inch killer stilettos ever since entering the 2nd trimester bcoz they're not comfy anymore - oh, except that one time during Noreen's wedding. But we only sit whattt ;p Plus, I don't walk a lot like I used to. On average once or twice a week now, and 3 hours max - or 4. And high-heel is not the only shoes I wear btw; I still wear wedges every now and then. I will stop wearing my heels when it's starting to get uncomfy and when my feet starts to show the first signs of swelling, don't worry. Besides, it is probably safer to wear high-heels than applying acne spot treatment on skin during pregnancy! It's not harming the baby, unless of course if you fall. Read this. And this. Annddd especially this! :D

Oh that reminds me of another incident, on the very same day.
I was standing near 2 concierges (one male, one female) when I overheard them talking:

Male: Rasa2, pregnant ke ape?
Female: Macam pregnant.
Male: Tapi dia pakai heels.

Ooookay... (lepas tu saya saje usap2 perut, as a sign that I'm pregnant! ;p).

Anyway, I saw this fab platform-heeled shoe at MNG the other day. I like the one in purple. But it's too chunky and almost 6 inches! (Hubby went like, "Heyyyy jatuh kang!" when he saw me trying it on in front of the mirror).

If I weren't pregnant, I would have probably purchased it. I hope by the time my baby pops out, the shoes would be on sale ;p

The shoes retail for RM289 btw. Go get it!

What's in your makeup collection?

When it comes to buying makeup (foundation, lip gloss, mascara, etc), do you usually stick to a specific brand or do you mix-and-match?

I've always thought I'm a mix-and-match kinda girl bcoz my favorite makeup items for each and every parts of the face seemed to be from various brands:

Foundation: Depends on what look I'm after. I wear Chanel Teint Innocent if I want extra coverage, Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation for medium coverage and Stila Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer for barely-there coverage.
Concealer: Bobbi Brown Corrector
Loose powder: Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder
Blusher: The Body Shop Cheek Color
Eye shadow: Stila eyeshadow palettes.
Eyeliner: Stila Kajal Eye Liner
Mascara: Lancome Hypnose and Stila Major Lash
Lipstick: Giorgio Armani Shine Lipstick and Make Up Store
Lipgloss: Stila Lip Polish, Stila Lip Glaze, Bloom and Chanel Cristalle Gloss

But when I have a closer look at my makeup collection, I can see that MOST of them are from the same brand(s) - Stila. Another one is Chanel.

Let's see what I have.

Stila:

Chanel:

(and that's not including the different shades of lipsticks/lipglosses from the same brands that I have).

Well, I guess that makes me a Stila makeup junkie! ;p
I never realized that tho...

Noreen's Wedding

Baju kurung is supposed to make you look slimmer than any other clothing, right?

So why do I look plump in my mom's pink kurung? I almost don't recognize my own body! Everything seemed to double its size. Especially my umm, err...

Never mind.

So anyway, Noreen and his hubby (known to us as Abang Wan) got married about 2 weeks ago, on 08.08.08 at 8pm. The Nikah ceremony was held at her parents' house in Subang Jaya. It was a simple ceremony, yet full of Johor's wedding tradition (none of them are from Johor btw) - complete with the "toll" and whatnot. This is my first time to witness one!

The reception was held 2 days later, at Hotel Istana. It was an English garden wedding (the bride and groom wore dress and tux), and we were served Chinese food! I enjoyed it, especially the Shark Fin Soup and one of the desserts. I don't know what it's called, but I remember what it's made of - small slices of honeydew, strawberry and sago in coconut milk. Yummm!

Yes, that's my mom's kurung that she wore on my Nikah day.

Anyway, my favorite moment of all in a wedding is when the Bride and Groom enters the hall - the dim lights, along with the selawat/song, all eyes on them. Aww... It makes me want to be a bride all over again! It also reminds us of our wedding 6 months ago (gosh, how time flies. And now I'm pregnant!!?). I couldn't get a clear picture of the Bride and Groom tho, so I curik from Noreen's facebook instead (and photoshop-ed it a little) ;p

Congratulations kakak!!!

Strawberry Banana Parfait

I am fasting today.
And when I'm fasting, I crave for cold and sweet desserts.

But I don't have all the energy to bake and whatnot, so I have to think of something quick and easy to make that doesn't require cooking.

So I decided to make this for berbuka:

Strawberry Banana Parfait

Here's how:

Fat-free mixed berries/strawberry yogurt
Nature's Source Strawberry and Yogurt Cereal
1 medium banana, sliced
3 fresh strawberries, sliced

Layer about 2 tablespoon of yogurt, 2 tablespoon of cereal followed by a few slices of banana and strawberry, in a glass.

Top off with another layer of yogurt, and garnish with a slice of banana and strawberry. Leave it in the freezer for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Enjoy!

p/s: This is also a great mid-afternoon snack. Yummy and healthy, I loike!

The Apple of Our Eyes

Awwhhhhh...

There's just too many cute baby clothes at Baby Gap! Especially those with word graphics. I couldn't resist it, so I bought a few pieces. Well, four to be exact. I should've bought unisex-colored clothing since our little one is not yet 100% confirmed to be a *toot*. Nevermind.

Anyways, I came across these bodysuits at Gap.com. They don't have it yet in Malaysia (I think), but if they were, we've decided to get this one if it's a girl...

MZ went like "Awww....my girl!!" ;p (He also went gaga over this.)

And this one if it's a boy...

The Sleep-Talker

My husband talks in his sleep.

Not a whole conversation though; he just moans and utters incoherently. I couldn't understand most of the things he said, but I manage to catch a few words, like "windows update", "product ID" and err "breast". It's really funny and I like to tease him.

But it could get a little freaky too, especially when he suddenly giggles or whispers. Like what happened just a few minutes ago. I wonder what's on his mind.

But anyway, I'm lucky he doesn't snore. Bcoz that would be really perturbing!

Pencil Eyeliner Review

If there's one makeup item that I cannot live without, it's got to be eyeliner (lip balm does not count as makeup, does it?). Eyeliner alone can make a huge difference to your look without much effort, so it's a handy solution when you're in a hurry.

To me, the most important thing to look for in an eyeliner is that, it must be really black and glides on easily.

When I came across Dior Crayon Eyeliner, I thought I had finally found my HG eyeliner.

Then there's Chanel Precision Eye Definer. I kind of like it bcoz it's softer than Dior's, so application is a breeze (the Dior eyeliner is quite dry compared to this). But the color is not intense enough that I have to reapply a few times to get a bold black line. Not a HG material for me.

Then recently, my sister bought Stila Kajal Eye Liner, so I tried it and OMG, I'm in love. It is hands down the blackest and creamiest eyeliner I have ever tried! I am not talking Benefit BADgal eye pencil's creamy kind of texture (that was a nightmare! It smears on my upper lids and staying power is really bad. In fact, everything from Benefit seems NOT beneficial to me), but this kajal eyeliner is so soft and velvety that it just kind of melts your heart as it glides on! The color is so dark and intense too - just one sweep and blend a little, and you're good to go. It stays long enough until I remove it and doesn't smears.

Here's a comparison of each eyeliner in just one sweep:

I wish it comes with a blending applicator and a sharpener though. But that's not a problem as I have about 3 of Dior sharpeners and 1 from Chanel. For smudging/blending, I use the angled liner brush from Too Faced makeup brush set that I have.

Just a word of caution: you have to master the art of applying eyeliner first before using this bcoz it is super soft (almost gel-like); it just "obediently" follow the movement of your hand as you glide it on, so the slightest error of a jagged line will be very, very noticeable. Not hot.
But practice does makes perfect.

Big Appetite

Last week, I had breakfast with my parents on the way to my dad's office. I ordered Roti Canai, then my dad suggested to try their yummy Nasi Lemak as well. So with a plate of Roti Canai in one hand, I ordered the Nasi Lemak. The pakcik saw me and quizzically asked "Ni untuk sape?", so I said it was for me. He had a mischievous smile on his face and said, "Malam tadi tak makan ek?". Haha, very funny.

I should have said that it was for my baby! ;p

I finished everything btw! Mum was very surprised bcoz all this while she thought I was still on diet (even though I told her a zillion times that I am SO not and that I've gained some weight) and insisted me to eaaaatttt bcoz:

a) I still take Herbalife shake for breakfast (except on that day)
b) she said I don't look that big except for my front parts (I was like, hmm how big do you want me to be?), and
c) the fact that I can still fit my old pants (with the help of Belly Belt of course).

I don't know how else to eat. But well, with that Roti Canai and Nasi Lemak, I guess I've proved to her that I'm not on diet (I managed to stay hunger-free for 8 hours straight without snacking btw!). How can you be on diet when you're pregnant, right?

But I will never ever have those for breakfast ever again.
Sekali setahun bole la kot ;p

p/s: Lately, I seemed to talk mostly about food. Must be the phase I'm in!

I'm NOT buncit, I'm just pregnant!

I was walking with my husband passed an OSIM store when a promoter with an OSIM uZap strapped on her tummy looked at me and said, "Kak, nak try OSIM uZap?".

I grunted, - "I'm pregnant, okay" and walked away without even looking at her.
Sheesh
.

Seriously, I need to wear that t-shirt.

**UPDATED**

Here's how "buncit" I am at the moment...

Buncit2 pon, I can still wear that Topshop Pintuck Shirt in the smallest size (size 6)! ;p

Food and Friends

One of the best things about being pregnant is, I get to decide where to eat :)

And that's why I brought my friends there, bcoz we have a BIGGG appetite! (and bcoz I know they are gonna enjoy the food).

Mr. Hubby had futsal game with his office buddies every Thursday night, so I decided to meet up with my friends for a girls' night out at The Gardens, last night... and all we did was eat eat and eaaaatttt!

Deciding what to eat and drink is part of the fun, even tho it took us awhile to make up our minds - so many food, so little time! We ordered our drinks, and I had my usual Strawberry Splash.

The food at Italiannies are meant for sharing, so here's what we had:

For appetizer:

We wanted to have mussels ape ntah, but the waiter informed us that there's alcohol in it. Well, never mind. That reminds me, you know the complimentary fresh breads with olive oil and balsamic vinegar that Italiannies always serve while waiting for your meal to arrive? Well, next time tell the waiter to pour only the olive oil bcoz I just found out quite recently that balsamic vinegar is not halal. It's made of leftover wine or something like that. If anyone has clearer info about this, please share.

Ok, moving on to the best part of all: the main course.
We had...

I'm not so sure if the grilled chicken is called 'Martesse'. All I know, it starts with an "M" and has "S"-es somewhere in between. Hmm, come to think of it, I think there's an "L" too. Martessel? Marlettes? Apa2 la. But basically, it's grilled chicken topped with chunks of tomatoes with creamy gravy that's made of cheese and umm... spinach, I think. It was soooo divineeee that I nearly swooned when I had my first bite! It was one of those moments where you savor the food with your eyes automatically closed, not wanting to relinquish the taste, and finally exhale with a deep breath, shivers and go, "mmMmmMMMmhHhhhhh...". That's the kind of divine I'm talking here.

And I don't think I need to tell you just how much I love shrimps, especially if they are as fat and succulent as the shrimps in the Shrimp Linguine. The pizza was yummy too - well, all of the food we had last night were yummy!

Oh, let's not forget the dessert.

I wish they pour more of the white sauce bcoz I like my bread butter pudding flooded with that thing, like my mom does. It was good, I like the slight taste of cinnamon, but I still prefer their creamy cheesy Strawberry Cheesecake with strawberry puree (which MZ and I got as a complimentary dessert for being a regular customer). That was even more sinful.

We couldn't finish off the dessert tho, bcoz we were so stuffed to the brim! But it was definitely one of the best dining experience I've ever had with my friends. And tonight we're going for makan-makan again, at our friends' wedding.

Speaking of that, I haven't decide which shoes to wear! I gotta go now. I have some trying-ons to do. And yes, I am gonna wear high-heels, pregnant or not! ;p

Acne Treatment

My face has gone haywire since getting pregnant! Red bumps, white bumps, deep bumps, whiteheads - it's the worst acne I have ever had in my whole life. There are 7 of them (yes, no kidding), and it seems to get worse day by day - especially since entering the second trimester. I am not blaming the pregnancy hormones alone (although that is obviously the main reason), but my lack of skincare routine especially during the early days might also worsen it.

I began searching for acne problems during pregnancy and whether it's safe to use acne treatments... and I found some conflicting viewpoints. Most acne treatments as we know contain Salicylic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide, and some websites say it's safe to use, while others say to stay away from anything containing Salicylic Acid bcoz it may be harmful to the baby. I'm really confused.

But I went to Kiehl's the other day anyway, and purchased the Blue Herbal Spot Treatment, hoping it would ease my pimples. I told the SA that I'm pregnant and she said it's okay to use, so I believed her. I should've asked my doctor first before purchasing it bcoz... it turns out that leave-on gels/creams especially, should be avoided during pregnancy bcoz it will be absorbed in the bloodstream and to the baby. I even showed the box to my doc. She said those pimples that I'm having is bcoz of hormone changes in my body so I just have to live with it *sobs*. She mentioned something like "pembawakan budak" - which I'm not sure what it means, but the fact that my skin will be back to normal when the pregnancy is over is a total relief. As of now, I shall leave my pimples alone and try not to focus on them so much. Anything for you, baby!

So since I can't use the spot treatment, I'm gonna let it go. I have only used it for about 4-5 times, so it's hardly used. Here's the details:

Kiehl's Blue Herbal Spot Treatment

It's a *toot*!

This mommy-to-be is so anxious and excited to know the sex of her baby that she couldn't wait another week for her next check up! And Alhamdulillah, this time the little one was cooperative. It even waved at us sambil pusing2, as if saying "Hi mama! Hi walid! Weeeee..... I'm doing great in here" (I think that's what we're gonna call ourselves).

Anyway, I'm not gonna announce it yet - not until it's really confirmed. All I can say is, if the ultrasound scan that I did today was accurate, then my very first instinct was right. But I'm gonna do a 4D scan sooner or later InsyaAllah, so you have to wait for that.

Meanwhile...

Does that look like a hotdog or a cheeseburger to you? ;)

Sleepless Night

During the 1st trimester, I went to bed early. On average, at 10pm.

Now I have a hard time sleeping - at night. I'm not talking 15 minutes or so; I'm talking hoursss. Sometimes up to 4 hours! My eyes refuse to shut before 4am, no matter how sleepy and tired I am. There was even a time when I only get to sleep after Subuh (actually it was about 3 times). It's not bcoz of the little one kicking. And I don't think it's insomnia. I just... think a lot.

I would lie in bed thinking about... well, all sorts of thing. Like what should we name our baby, or the food that I'm craving for, or should I buy that pretty pink GUESS peep-toe, or how I miss eating sushi, yada-yada-yada... You get the picture. Sometimes my mind even sings! That's the toughest part to deal with bcoz most of the songs that my mind loves to sing are the songs that I hate. And it keeps on repeating over and over again, even when I tried to stop. It gets really annoying. And when it's about 2 hours later, I think to myself, "Why am I still not sleeping", and later commands, "Come on, go to sleep NOW!".

But I'm still not sleeping. Not at least for another hour or so.

How do I tell my mind to shut up?
